From a consultant’s perspective, the Goetzman Group’s business model does provide the overall flexibility and work-life balance that a true professional seeks. Additionally, the opportunity of being exposed to either different segments of an industry or an entirely different industry altogether is appealing from a career development standpoint. If you have worked in any client/service environment (i.e. public accounting), you understand how valuable this exposure is. How else can a seasoned professional obtain such knowledge transfer (which only helps your marketability) otherwise?

In regards to career development, again as stated on their website, the Goetzman Group does offer in-house training (most recently there was an instructor led MS access course focusing on creating and managing tables and queries for data sets) as well as web-based and off-site (both live- or self-instructed) training of the latest versions of various applications. Additionally, if you are a licensed (i.e. CPA, CFA, CMA, CIA, IIA, S-27) professional, the Goetzman Group encourages your CPE and assists with the related costs. The Goetzman Group recognizes that such certifications make you a valuable professional in the workplace which, in turn, makes them a valuable consulting practice.

The definition of, “consultancy” as defined by Princeton (wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn) is as follows, “the practice of giving expert advice within a particular field”. The consulting professionals that the Goetzman Group employs are just that, professionals who provide expert advice within the accounting and finance arena for small-, mid- and large companies (both public and private). This consulting practice is not to be confused or associated with any type of temp agency that typically represents lower-level, inexperienced transient workers.

In conclusion, I have been and continue to be very happy with my employment at the Goetzman Group. Throughout my career here, I have always had a positive, professional experience from the beginning of the placement process all the way through to the exit interview with each and every consulting project I have been a part of. I have not been treated unfairly or unprofessionally at all throughout my tenure by either a client or internal management.
